Letterpress, the addictive word game on iOS has been updated to version 1.3. The update brings the shake-to-shuffle feature, a new high-contrast theme, and more enhancements for a better gaming experience.
Once you have downloaded the Letterpress app on your iOS device you play via Game Center either with friends or random opponents picked by Game Center.
"Find words, steal tiles, color the board! Letterpress is a fresh new word game for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Play against your friends using Game Center! The perfect blend of fun and strategy," notes the app description on iTunes.
The app was updated on Sunday, Jan. 27 and brings the new shake-to-shuffle feature that lets you shake your device to shuffle your selected letters. It's perfect for finding anagrams from previously played words used by your opponent.
With the update you can now choose to view replays directly in Safari or Chrome. You can tap on empty spaces in the 5 x 5 letter grid to wiggle the letter that came from that spot. If you try to play a word when it's not your turn, Letterpress will tell you if it's invalid.
The update brings a new high-contrast theme along with a tweaked icon to the app. Additionally, the app shows the number of words played on the played words screen.
You can download the free version of the app directly from iTunes and the app is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (third generation), iPod touch (fourth generation), iPod touch (fifth generation), and iPad and requires iOS 5.0 or later.
