Costco Wholesale, the membership warehouse club which provides a wide selection of merchandize, will offer Microsoft Surface RT at a cheaper price point when compared to other retailers.
The Surface RT is currently sold by the Microsoft Store, Staples, and Best Buy. The pricing details of the Surface RT come courtesy a leaked screenshot of the internal inventory system. However, Costco has put up a video of the tablet on its Web site, indicating that the device will soon be a part of its inventory.
The leaked image of the internal inventory reflects that Costco will start selling the 32GB version of Surface RT without the Touch cover for $499.99. Microsoft sells the Surface RT for $499, but the thrill begins when it comes to adding the Touch cover to your package.
Microsoft sells the white, red, cyan, and magenta Touch covers for an additional $119.99, which makes the total price of the 32GB tablet and touch cover as $618.99. Additionally, Microsoft also offers a 32GB ($599) or 64GB ($699) tablet and a black version of the Touch cover.
The leaked image of Costco's inventory system suggests that a 32GB Surface RT with black or cyan Touch cover will cost $589.99 and the tablet with red, white, or magenta Touch case will cost $599.99.
Costco is also expected to sell the 64GB version of Surface RT with black or cyan Touch cover for $679 and the tablet with other colors of Touch cover for $699.99.
Additionally, if you already have a Surface RT tablet and want to buy a Touch cover then Costco will also sell the black and white variants for $110.99. The pricing of the tablet if purchased along with the Touch cover is cheaper than what is being offered by the Microsoft Store.
Costco has not officially released the pricing of the Surface RT but with a video of the tablet posted on its Web site, it does not seem that it will be long before the tablet arrives at your local Costco store.
