Canadian users of the Galaxy Note 2 are in for some good news. Samsung Canada has confirmed that it will be pushing out the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy Note 2 from next week, bringing a host of new features including Multi Window support.
The news comes courtesy MobileSyrup which received an e-mail from Samsung Canada, confirming the same.
"Samsung Canada sent an email to us that will bring some joy to Galaxy Note II users. The anticipated Jelly Bean update - Android OS 4.1.2 - is apparently going to be pushed through and will have Multi Window support," reported MobileSyrup.
The date of roll out for the software update will vary, depending on carrier and "will be available through FOTA." What's more, the Android 4.1.2 firmware update will also bring Multi Window support, which enables users to run two apps at the same time.
"Samsung Canada announced today the upcoming availability of the latest update for the GALAXY Note II smartphone, which offers Multi Window allowing users to interact with two separate applications simultaneously," noted the Samsung Canada e-mail to MobileSyrup. "The OS update (Android 4.1.2) gives customers the ability to personalize and customize their smartphone experience and interact with two apps at the same time. Samsung Canada now allows GALAXY Note II customers to change app positions within the Multi Window in addition to having the capability of using Pop Up Video while using Multi Window."
The software update also brings support for simplified and traditional Chinese, and is easily accessible from the settings menu. Moreover, the software will be able to change the language for most apps and menus, as well as "support handwriting of Chinese characters to be transposed into text."
