Nokia Lumia 920 is one of the most popular Windows Phone 8 (WP8) smartphones and now, reports suggest that the Lumia 920 was sold out for the third time at UK retailer Clove even before the inventory arrived.
The Finnish smartphone maker has been struggling to keep pace in the highly competitive smartphone market with a major chunk of its market share eaten up by rivals like Apple, Samsung and HTC. Now, with the launch of Lumia 920 and its increasing popularity and demand, it seems that Nokia will soon be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
The Nokia Lumia 920 is beginning to roll out globally and the Nokia Store in Shanghai, China saw long lines of customers queuing up to buy the Nokia Lumia 920 and the yellow variant of the Lumia 920 was sold out in just 20 minutes.
The UK has also seen high demand of the Lumia 920 as retailer Clove sold out the device from pre-orders placed even before the phones were received at its stores. Clove is selling the unlocked 32GB version of the smartphone for £520.00 ($838 approximately).
"SOLD OUT. Backorders of RED & BLACK units due to ship Tuesday 15th January. NEW orders for any colour and WHITE backordered units expected to ship approx 18th January," read Clove's Lumia 920 order page.
One of the reasons the Lumia 920 is seeing such an overwhelming demand could well have to do with the fact that many users want to experience the new WP8 mobile OS. Secondly, with not many WP8 smartphones around, the Nokia 920, which packs in top-end features, may come across as the best available option.
