CES 2013 is just a week away and already Samsung is showing off some of its products that are expected to be on the show floor. The company announced two Windows 8-based Series 7 laptops that are aimed at those folks with deep pockets.
The first of the two, is the Series 7 Ultra, a device with a neat 13.3-inch 1080p touchscreen, Intel core i5 or core i7 processor, discreet AMD HD8570 GPU for gaming with 1GB of memory, with up to 16GB of RAM along with 256GB SSD. Samsung stated that the Series Ultra will give users over eight hours of battery life, which in all honesty is quite impressive considering what is inside this beast. Don't worry much about weight, it is just a little bit over three pounds, so unless you feed on twigs, it shouldn't be heavy.
Next up is the Series 7 Chronos, a device that is bigger and badder than the Series 7 Ultra. The Chronos packs a AMD Radeon HD8870 discreet GPU with 2GB memory, 1TB hard drive, Intel core i7, up to 16GB RAM, and a beautiful 15.6-inch 1080p touch display. The Chronos, which weighs just over five pounds, is able to deliver to the user an impressive 11 hours battery life.
It would be interesting to see how these devices perform in the real world. Both Samsung Series 7 laptop/ultrabook devices are expected to grace the floors of CES 2013, we'll be there and hopefully give an update on how these little giants perform.
