While Nintendo Wii U fans and users were wondering recently as to what kind of games they would be receiving for the next generation gaming console, EA has some good news for all those fans.

Per reports, EA has confirmed that the popular racing title 'Need for Speed: Most Wanted' will indeed be arriving on the Nintendo console in 2013, after the company hinted that it just might port the game over to the new console.

A press release for the confirmation of the news has also indicated that the game will take advantage of Wii U features such as displaying information on the gamepad. Per wish, users could even play the entire game off the controller.

"You know what's odd? Receiving details about a Western game through Japanese sources. EA has announced the Wii U version of Need for Speed: Most Wanted for Japan, confirming a release date and bringing out a bit of information," Nintendo Everything states.

The European and North American release dates for the game are expected to arrive in the coming weeks. Although, as to how the release date for Japan came about first, when the series has never even been big there, is unknown, at least the new information still provides a highly desirable indication of the game's Wii U status.

"EA has yet to say whether Need for Speed: Most Wanted is being fine-tuned by original developer Criterion, or if it is being repackaged for Wii U by another team (as in the case of Mass Effect 3)," states Eurogamer.

However, EA has announced that the Wii U version of the racer will be arriving in 2013, with Japan getting an early release date of Mar. 14.

The NFS title was first announced by the company for Wii U back in October last year. The game was actually listed as a Wii U title in Nintendo's recent financial report, and was grouped in with other third party titles planned for release in 2013.

"We are very excited to deliver Need for Speed: Most Wanted on more platforms and to more gamers," a representative for EA commented. "Starting Oct. 30, Most Wanted will be available on X360, PS3, PS Vita, Android and iOS. Then in 2013, Nintendo fans will be able to experience what it means to be Most Wanted amongst their friends on the Wii U."
