Samsung has confirmed that the original Galaxy Note will be receiving an upgrade to Android Jelly Bean and the Samsung Premium Suite. The company posted the news on its Galaxy Note Web site, showing off all the new features included with this update.

The Galaxy Note will get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, which makes Android feel fast and smooth due to "Project Butter."

Galaxy Note users will also get to experience Google Now. Google Now is Android's answer to Apple's Siri and offers many more features than Apple's virtual assistant. Google Now's voice search seems far more accurate and is much faster at getting results. Google Now's Card View gives you relevant information before you even have to ask. It provides a slick card-interface that shows you all different kinds of information. It's aware of the time of day, current location, location history, web history and more. It can also provide you with traffic information, and how long your expected commute will take because it is aware of your location, home address, and work address. It's just somehow magically waiting there for you to open Google Now. I'm a big fan of Google Now, it's one of the best new features of Jelly Bean.

However, Samsung isn't stopping with just a Jelly Bean upgrade. It's also making its Premium Suite available to Galaxy Note users as well. The Premium Suite adds even more features to Jelly Bean; here are a few features you can look forward to:

The Multi Window feature allows you to split your screen into two active windows and run two or more apps on the same screen at the same time.

The Popup Note feature allows you to write notes while on a call or while using another app and automatically opens intuitively when you pull out the S Pen. Popup Video / Browser allows you to watch video and browse the Web while performing other tasks.

Easy Clip allows you to crop an image from any screen to save or share instantly.

Paper Artist allows you to draw and edit photos and offers various photo editing effects.

Handwriting on S Planner / Email allows you to send handwritten notes via email or handwrite memos in S Planner, very similar to a traditional paper planner.

More information and features of the Galaxy Note Jelly Bean and Premium Suite upgrade can be found here. Samsung has not listed an exact date of when it will begin rolling out this update but it shouldn't be too long.
