The survival horror video game genre hasn't been doing well in recent years. Only a few games have stayed true to what the genre is all about. Gamers, who are desperately seeking out a survival horror title to play in 2013, will not have to look far, as 'Dead Space 3' is all set to make a splash.

Visceral Games, the makers of 'Dead Space 3', has confirmed that come Jan. 15, 2013, Xbox 360 gamers would be the first to get their hands on a demo of the game.

However, to qualify for early access, Xbox 360 gamers are required to sign up at the Dead Space 3 Web site, and be sure to have their Origin/EA account information ready to rock-n-roll.

Dead Space 3 centers around Isaac Clark, who finds himself on the icy planet of Tau Volantis. Necromorphs, creatures Isaac has faced several times before, overrun the place and it is up to him and his partner-in-monster-killing-crime, Sergeant John Carver, to set things right.

Like Resident Evil 6, two player campaign co-op is a big part of Dead Space 3. Players are able to drop in and out of an ongoing campaign as they please. Incentives are available for playing co-op for those who may not be too interested - co-op gameplay allows for new story details and side missions that are not available in the single player campaign.

One cool addition to the Xbox 360 version of 'Dead Space 3' is its support for Xbox Kinect. By repeating the words "Give Partner Ammo," your character would right away stop and give your co-op buddy some well-needed ammunition to continue the fight in killing things that are little children's worst nightmare.

For those who are unwilling to sign-up for an EA Origins account to play the game on Jan. 15, will be happy to know that 'Dead Space 3' will be publicly available on Jan. 22 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
