Google and LG have begun airing two commercials for the Nexus 4. The commercial below focuses on some of the features in Android 4.2 such as Google Maps Navigation, Wi-Fi display mirroring, Photo Sphere, Android Beam and Google Now. It also gives viewers a chance to check out the design of the Nexus 4 and how its features would work in their everyday life.
The second commerical (shown above) focuses on Photo Sphere being used at a holiday family party. Photo Sphere allows you to take a 360 degree photo of your surroundings, very similar to the feature used in Google Maps' Street View. When using the Photo Sphere function in the Camera app you will be guided around your surroundings by dots displayed on the screen letting you know where to take your next shot. While you're taking the picture the software stitches together all of the shots resulting in one panorama-esque picture.
The Nexus 4 is Google's current Android flagship smartphone. It is sold unlocked for $299 for an 8GB model and $349 for a 16GB model. Google currently sells the Nexus 4 through the Google Play Store
If you're looking to buy Nexus 4 anytime soon, we've got some bad news for you. Every time Google gets new shipments of Nexus 4, the device almost immediately sells out due to the low price tag for such a high-end device.
It's great to see Google and LG educating consumers of the fact that Android has come a long way and it's not just for geeks anymore. There are features in Android 4.2 that will certainly appeal to geeks and regular consumers alike. And, it might just about convince iPhone users to switch allegiance.
