Samsung recently announced that its Galaxy S3 had notched up 30 million unit sales worldwide within just a few months of its May release. The company also rolled out the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for its UK customers in October. And now, British retailer Clove has launched a 64GB black version of its best-selling smartphone.

"Back in August we revealed that the black variant of the SGS3 would be available in a variant that has 64GB internal storage. We have now had some indicative pricing and availability through for the SGS3 Black 64GB and have made it available to pre-order for £500 (£600 including VAT)," stated Clove's blog post.

The Galaxy S3 smartphone is now available for pre-order on the retailer's Web site. The black Galaxy S3 is a SIM-free unlocked version and after VAT will set users back by £600 (approximately $958). However, the exact date of delivery is not known and Clove's blog post disclaims the stock is expected in "approximately two months time."

"At this stage it is not guaranteed that we will range the handset as we will need to place an order for a minimum number of units," noted Clove's blog post.

Clove's blog post also noted that users need to order their handset now. Additionally, if it did not receive enough orders, it was possible that users would not receive the handset at all.

"In two weeks time we will decide whether or not to take stock of the handset based on the number of pre-orders that we have received for the handset," noted Clove.

Users can place a pre-order for the "SGS3 Black 64GB" on the retailers Web site and their card would not be charged. The retailer also averred that if it receives enough pre-orders they would ask customers to confirm them and to make the payment. Clove would also provide an updated ETA for the stock arrival. The retailer also disclaims that "be aware that from this point onwards there is likely to be a 5-6 week lead time." However, post this Clove will ship orders as soon as they get the stock.

Specifications and features-wise this variant of the Galaxy S3 is identical to the other offerings apart from the on-board storage and color difference.

The Galaxy S3 is available in an array of colors like red, pink, blue, white, brown, gray, and black, which are market specific. The smartphone from Samsung has done extremely well in the UK market and even picked up two awards at a gadgets event in London, including best smartphone and best gadget of 2012.
