Apple sent invites for its launch event slated for Tuesday, Oct. 23, in which the company is expected to reveal the highly-anticipated iPad Mini. Till now the iPad has been offered in staid black or white variants, and many users may be hoping that the iPad Mini will be launched in various vibrant hues.
The invitation to Apple's media event included a white Apple Logo with background filled with various colors. iFans may take the invite as an indication that the latest iPad Mini will come in different colors just like the fifth-generation iPod Touch.
Giving users more color options, apart from the traditional black or white, may become a USP for the new tablet.
"The iPad has always had a black or white bezel, but so does the touch. It's got a colorful aluminum shell with a white bezel, something that would work well for the mini too, allowing for fun colors without a distraction when using the tablet," reported Pad Gadget.
Furthermore, the report also added "This is all in good fun, of course. While I'm hoping for an iPad mini with a candy pink shell, I'm not counting on it. But... the invitation for the event was delivered with a lovely rainbow of colors over the Apple, so there's always the possibility!"
iPad Mini in rainbow colors may differentiate the device from not only the previous iPad iterations, but also from other available tablets in the market. Currently, 7-inch tablets like Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire HD are not available in an array of colors. A choice of more colors for iPad Mini may attract a larger audience towards the tablet, increasing its market appeal.
If the iPad Mini is targeted at the younger audience, then a range of vibrant colors may see the iPad Mini fly off the shelves like hot cakes.
The iPad Mini is expected to sport a 7.85-inch Retina display and at an affordable price tag starting at $249. With the event knocking at the doorstep, it is not long before Apple will take the wraps off the fabled tablet; however, whether the iPad Mini will replicate the iPod Touch's color saga remains to be seen.
