According to various reports, the iPhone 16 Pro variants were pronounced the "beast" gaming smartphones of this generation. While AI and other advanced features may now power the newly released models, it comes at a cost.

Among other updates announced by the tech giant is a shocking list of changes: the upgraded battery replacement prices for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will now be costlier all over the world.

Higher Cost of Replacing the iPhone 16 Pro Battery

In particular, this new series of iPhone 16 Pro is costlier to repair than its predecessor, especially if you do not subscribe to Apple's premium service program, Gadgets 360 points out.

The official iPhone Repair & Service page appeared on the Apple India website with the detail that today's new price that Apple is charging for battery replacement specifically on the iPhone 16 Pro is Rs. 11,800, which is equivalent to $140.

On the other hand, it goes without saying that the cost for the new battery replacement of the older iPhone 15 Pro was Rs. 9,800 ($117) meaning a surcharge of Rs. 2000 ($24). The same is applicable to the series for the iPhone 16, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

This increase in cost will only be for the Pro models, meaning that those purchasing the iPhone 16 Pro or iPhone 16 Pro Max will have to pay a little more to get service to replace the battery unless they are covered by Apple Care+.

Standard Models of iPhone 16 Incurred No Changes in Cost Replacing Batteries

In this increase in cost to replace batteries, only the Pro models will incur; however, the standard models will not incur the same costs as the Pro models.

It must be noted that the battery replacement of both the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are retained at the same Rs 9800 that it used to be for its predecessors.

This brings a change in thought, where the company may be increasing the price of the services needed for the high-end Apple products; the users for standard variants can still expect an 'Apple standard' pricing for a pocket-friendly replacement of the battery.

For some, they have an Apple Care+, so they do not care how costs may escalate when replacing the battery. Apple Care+ keeps granting free replacements, and the experts also recommend that one should still get their battery replaced if they don't want to spend a lot of money in case of any fault in their device.

However, for regular customers who do not have a subscription to Apple Care+, the hump will be in the pocket since Apple has hiked the price for replacing a battery in case an iPhone is out of warranty but still has an old battery.

The additional battery service for the iPhone 16 Pro is the first for the iPhone 14 since the release.

The battery of iPhone 13 was priced at Rs. 8,800 ($105). Within the same day as Apple launched the iPhone 14 series, the price of the same had gone up to Rs. 9,800 ($117). 

The iPhone 16 Pro has a replacement price for its battery at Rs. 11,800 ($141), but it is again a tremendous hike-reflecting the interest of Apple in high prices to its flagship products.
