WhatsApp has unveiled a new privacy feature that gives them more control over who can see their status updates. It is presently in beta testing.

WhatsApp, Meta's widely used messaging program, improves user experience and innovates further by strengthening user control and privacy. The most recent addition to its collection of privacy tools is the "status privacy confirmation" feature, which is presently available to Android users for beta testing. This update, which is a part of the 2.24.12.27 beta, reflects WhatsApp's dedication to user-centric enhancements and strengthened privacy protections by giving users a more easy approach to control who may see their status updates.

At the moment of posting, users can choose who will see their status updates thanks to the "status privacy confirmation" feature. By offering a box that lets users pick which contacts to view their status for, this new feature aims to make the process of sharing information easier. It used to be difficult and time-consuming to change the privacy settings for status updates since you had to go via the settings menu.

Improved Privacy Controls

Popular instant messaging service WhatsApp, is now testing a new feature that will give Android users more privacy control over their status updates. The software version 2.24.12.27 makes this function, dubbed "status privacy confirmation," available to a select group of beta testers at this time. With the update, users may now choose which contacts to share a status update with by opening a new window that pops up when they generate one.

This new feature provides two primary options for sharing status updates: "All Contacts" and "Specific Contacts. " The "All Contacts" status makes posts available for anybody on the social networking site who is listed in the user's contacts, but it also includes the option of excluding contacts. This is particularly important in the "Specific Contacts" category, wherein a user can only share the status updates with particular persons and not other people who may not be of interest.

Beta Availability and User Friendly

The status privacy confirmation feature is currently in its experimental phase and being tested with users who joined the beta version of the application via Google Play Store beta programme. This staged deployment means that not every beta tester would be able to utilize the function all at once, although the company expects the function to roll out to even more users within the next few days.

This update is expected to enhance the user Interface but mainly it will enable people to easily configure privacy settings for the status section. Before, to alter status privacy options the users went to the settings of the application. With the new feature, they can now adjust these options at the time of updating status, which is less of an inconvenience especially when many users get easily distracted.

Gadgets 360 has also confirmed that the above feature exists in another version of another less popular WhatsApp beta for Android, which further endorses the theory that the feature is in the pipeline and is gradually being rolled out to beta testers. This is one of the developments that WhatsApp has been working on in response to the enhancement of privacy and control on it.

New Layout for Status Updates

In addition to the status privacy confirmation feature, WhatsApp is also testing a new layout for the status updates page. This update, introduced in version 2.24.12.20, includes a larger thumbnail for status updates, replacing the existing smaller circular window. This new layout allows users to get a glimpse of the status update from the thumbnail without having to open it fully, providing a more intuitive and user-friendly experience.

These new features introduce elements that were missing from the application and demonstrate WhatsApp desire to improve the experience of the users and privacy protection. This feature of confirming the status of privacy has been very useful to the users on the application of WhatsApp for iOS when it was released to the TestFlight beta program.

In return, the Android users can also have this updated feature from WhatsApp with the idea of having the same interface with the operating system.

The new update about the WhatsApp status privacy confirmation options is another way WhatsApp is now making available to allow users to have more control over what they post on their status. Thanks to the opportunity to choose specific contact with whom it is suitable to share your status, the application like WhatsApp also gives users more control over their settings and helps not to let unwanted persons see your status.

The tested feature, which is being gradually introduced to the beta users, means that in the nearest future, it is going to be available for all users, and it will also improve the privacy and security level in the platform.

Since WhatsApp makes updates to its application and develops new solutions, it tries to protect users' personal information and provide them with the greatest experience within the application. That is the new line of work in this regard - the status privacy confirmation feature and the change to the layout of status updates are a good sign that WhatsApp is still trying to foreground all the different user-needs which the platform had evolved to encompass.
