On Oct. 8 T-Mobile revealed that it will offer LG Optimus L9. The company did not confirm the price and availability dates but said that the device will be available "this fall."

Duea further added "When coupled with T-Mobile's Unlimited Nationwide 4G Data plan, T-Mobile customers have the freedom to live an always-connected lifestyle on our 4G network- whether that means watching videos, streaming music or searching the Web - without having to worry about overage charges or surprise bills."

The features of LG Optimus L9 may not be top-end, but the company will hope that the device will still be among its popular line-up of Android smartphones.

"As the latest device in LG's L-Series smartphones, LG Optimus L9 has been designed to fulfill users' needs for a slim, stylish device that is comfortable to use," said James Fishler, senior vice president of marketing and go-to-market operations, LG Electronics USA. Fishler added further "With LG Optimus L9, users can take advantage of premium smartphone features - a stunning display, a powerful processor and a long-lasting battery - in a sleek design."

LG announced the L series of smartphones in February this year at the Mobile World Congress, and Optimus L9 is the latest model in the L-series family. The Optimus L9 sports a 4.5-inch quarter-HD touchscreen made up of Corning Gorilla Glass 2.

The device features a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash, and digital zoom. The smartphone also includes a 0.3-megapixel front-facing VGA camera.

A 2150 mAh battery powers the device. The LG Optimus L9 comes packed with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). The smartphone measures 5.19 x 2.69 x 0.36 inch and weighs 4.41 ounces.

The device includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and microUSB connectivity features; however, the latest in technology i.e., Near Field Communication (NFC) is missing.

The LG Optimus L9 packs decent features. With a gamut of smartphones available that sport similar features, user preference will ultimately play a deciding role and determine the future of the LG Optimus L9 in the consumer market.
