Looks like Sony is hard at works on a new smartphone under its lauded Xperia series.

If rumors running rampant on the internet are anything to go by, Sony is gearing up to launch a new smartphone, dubbed - Sony Xperia X Ultra under its well-received Xperia line. The rumor stems from a recently surfaced press renders, which suggest the impending Xperia phone will feature a 6.45-inch ultra-wide display.

The leaked renders of the alleged Sony Xperia X Ultra were originally discovered by MobileExpose (via GSM Arena). The report implies that the upcoming Xperia handset will feature a colossal (6.45-inch) display, as Sony decides to follow in the footsteps of the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+, and LG G6.

Aside from the display, the latest leaked renders divulge more details about the rumored Xperia device. The upcoming smartphone is tipped to sport smaller bezels at the edges but, Sony is said to keep the bezel at the top much wider so that it could fit its brand logo, which will be placed right next to the front shooter.

In terms of optics, the leaked images suggest the Sony Xperia X Ultra will sport a 13MP selfie camera and a 19MP main camera on the back. In addition to that, the device also has a capacitive button that facilitates navigation, according to IndiaToday.

As far as color options are concerned, the Xperia X Ultra will be up for grabs in red and gray. If the Tokyo-based handset maker sticks to its release pattern, it will roll out more color options in near future.

Despite the dearth of concrete details about Xperia X Ultra, there's hearsay that the next Xperia smartphone will be powered by a Snapdragon 660 processor and pack 4GB of RAM, IndianExpress reported. It will be backed by a robust 3,050mAh battery which is equipped withQuick Charge support.
