Samsung is planning to launch a brand new app that is aimed at reducing the anxiety involved with replying to messages and answering phone calls while operating a motorized vehicle of riding a bike. The app, called "In-Traffic Reply," aims to also reduce the number of accidents involving distracted drivers who are busy using their smartphones.

According to Samsung's blog, the company found through a study that a huge majority of driver do use their smartphones while they are driving or riding a bike, despite knowing the dangers involved in doing so. Most respondents apparently neglected the risks due to the social pressure of answering phone calls and replying to messages as soon as possible.

The new app aims to relieve this social pressure by responding to messages and calls automatically without the need for any input from the user. The "In-Traffic Reply" app automatically activates when it detects that the user is driving. It does this by using the smartphones different sensors, including GPS, accelerometer, gyro, and other sensors.

As per GSM Arena, once activated, the app will then automatically respond to any text message or calls that come in. Users can set a custom reply with fun animations or leave it at the default "I'm driving, so I cannot answer at the moment." As previously mentioned, this is all done without any input from the user, which means that users can just leave their phones alone and concentrate on the task at hand.

The "In-Traffic Reply" app is currently in its beta stage, but it has already attracted the attention of several interested users who have expressed their positive opinions about it. The full version is expected to hit the Google Play Store for Android users around the middle of May. Samsung has not yet revealed if they would be developing an iOS version of the app.
