An enhanced version of HTC's flagship smartphone, the One X, has sparked rumors for a while, and now it seems the HTC One X+ is indeed real, and might arrive sooner than expected.

The sequel to the HTC One X appears in UK carrier O2's marketing brochure, confirming rumors that HTC is prepping a surprise.

Spotted by GSM Arena, the brochure entry features a seemingly identical smartphone to the existing One X. It appears to sport the same 4.7-inch screen with three touch-sensitive buttons across the bottom for navigating around the Android interface.

While the standard One X is still waiting for an Android update, however, the One X+ reportedly comes with the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box. The brochure listing further indicates the smartphone will pack a quad-core processor, likely the same Nvidia Tegra 3 found in the standard HTC One X.

Specs & Features

The processor on the One X+ would also come with a turbo boost to 1.7GHz, a slight improvement over the 1.5GHz chip on the standard model. While it's not a dramatic increase, it should things up.

The One X+ will also reportedly boast 64GB of storage, which will be particularly useful if this model does not offer expandable storage either (the One X doesn't). Additionally, the new model will offer 25GB of free cloud storage, courtesy of DropBox. As expected, the new version will also pack Beats Audio, so the red Beats branding will likely adorn the back of the handset.

When it comes to camera, not much seems changed. The One X+ will feature an 8-megapixel camera sensor, the same as the regular model. The standard One X' camera is decent and performs well, though delivers nothing extraordinary. It is uncertain at this point whether HTC has made any improvements over the existing camera.

Price & Availability

Lastly, the O2 brochure listing features the phone with a £480 (roughly $776) price tag on pay-as-you-go, with pay-monthly deals likely to be announced soon. It is still unknown exactly when the One X+ will arrive, but it is expected to reach both the UK and the U.S. soon.

HTC has sent out invitations for an "exclusive" event in Glasgow on Oct. 2, where those attending will be able to "preview HTC's latest phones." The company will likely unveil the One X+ at that event.
