Korean smartphone maker LG launched the Optimus Vu 2 at the IFA event in Berlin in August this year, but the company did not disclose the specs. However, a complete list of specifications for the device has now been leaked on a Korean Web site.

At the IFA event, LG announced that the Optimus Vu 2 will boast an infrared blaster, which can be used to control other LG devices like televisions, Blu-ray players, and even air conditioning units.

The leak suggests that the Optimus Vu 2 will sport a 5-inch IPS display with 1024 x 768 pixels resolution. A 1.5GHz Qualcomm 8960 dual-core processor with LTE radio will power the device. The handset will include 2GB of RAM which is double that of its predecessor, the Optimus Vu. The Optimus Vu 2 will boast an 8-megapixel rear-facing and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing one. The device will house 16GB of internal storage with the option to expand to up to 32GB using a microSD card.

A powerful 2150 mAh battery will boost the device. The device will allegedly come pre-loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). However, smartphone users will hope for an upgrade to the lastest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean soon. The Optimus Vu 2 will be both Near Field Communication (NFC) and Wi Fi enabled.

LG has not revealed a confirmed release date and pricing for the Optimus Vu 2. However, users will be hoping to grab the device as soon as possible.

With stiff competition in the market from rivals, time will tell if LG has deployed its best in device to attract existing LG loyalists and diverge users from other popular brands.
