HTC Ocean will be the name of HTC's flagship smartphone. According to the latest leak online, this will be the official name and not the widely known HTC 11.

Speculations and predictions have surfaced online since late 2016 pointing that the flagship phone of the Taiwanese tech giant will be dubbed as HTC 11. From then on, every time analysts would refer to the company's upcoming flagship device, that name was used. However, a fresh leak suggests otherwise, claiming that officially, the device is called HTC Ocean.

As a background, High Tech Computer Corporation, popularly known as HTC was founded in 1997. The Taiwanese company began designing the first-ever touch and wireless hand-held devices in 1998. Four years after, the company released the first Microsoft-powered Android smartphone. A year later, they roll out the first-ever Microsoft 3G phone. Originally, HTC's first major product was one of the world's first touchscreen smartphones.

MobileMag reported that the company designer was the source of the leaked information that caused analysts to speculate about the name of their flagship phone. The description released by the company for the HTC Ocean speaks more of an enhanced HTC 10 model. In addition, the device resembles its predecessor in terms of physical design.

As for the HTC Ocean's specs and features, it was speculated that the device would enable users to operate the smartphone's functions with Sense Touch. This feature will only entail users to swipe or tap the edge of the device to access the phone. Aside from the Sense Touch, several reports claim that the device will sport a 12 MP rear camera and 8MP front camera intended for selfies.

The HTC Ocean reportedly will have a 5.5-inch display with 1440 X 2560 pixels Quad HD resolution. Apart from those, it will come out equipped with Snapdragon 835 SoC, Qualcomm's latest and most powerful chip in the market. With the newest chip onboard, the flagship device is expected to feature the Quick Charge 4.0 technology, reducing charging time by up to 20 percent. To top it all, the HTC Ocean will run on Android Nougat, says Trusted Review.
