If you wanted an iPhone 5 and realized you wouldn't be able to be one of the first in line to get your hands on the device, what would you do? Would you purchase it on eBay for $3000 if you had that much cash to waste? It would seem someone has just done that, they went ahead and spent $3000 on an iPhone 5 on eBay that only cost around $1000 to $1500 unlocked.
Paying $3000 for an iPhone 5 is truly a thing of great shock and awe. Whoever this person is, he/she must really be impatient to sit still and wait a while for the next batch of shipment. However, considering many stores selling the iPhone 5 has been sold out and shipping could be pushed back to another month or so, the high prices on eBay is understandable, still, an iPhone 5 costing $3,000 is completely unthinkable.
An Apple iPhone 5 generally cost $200 for the 16GB version on contract, the 32GB and 64GB versions cost $300 and $400 respectively, all with a two year contract with AT&T, Sprint or Verizon. Apple is currently not offering fully unlocked versions of the iPhone 5, but when that happens, the price would more likely be between $650 and $800, still a far cry from that $3,000 price point.
The iPhone 5 is Apple's newest smartphone that comes packaged with a 4-inch Retina Display, an A6 dual core processor with quad core GPU for high level gaming on the go. The devices comes with an all new Lightning dock connector along with support for 4G LTE, a features that fans were begging for before the iPhone 4S was announced.
Other features includes an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with built in Panorama and the ability to take 1080p HD videos, 1.2 megapixel front-facing FaceTime camera, Airplay, Bluetooth 4.0 and Fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating on the display screen.
