Panasonic debuted a new smartphone under its lauded Eluga series. The recently launched device is dubbed as Panasonic Eluga Pure and it is currently up for grabs in Taiwan.
Taiwan-based smartphone enthusiasts looking to pre-order the Panasonic Eluga Pure smartphone can head to the company's Taiwan website and shell out NT $4,990 (about $163). The device is slated to start shipping next week -- on March 27, to be precise. It remains to be seen whether or not it will be available in other markets.

Under the hood, the Eluga Pure packs a MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor with Mali-T720 GPU and 2900mAh battery. It is coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage.
The device will be available in Titanium Grey color option. On the top edge, the smartphone features the Micro-USB port as well as the 3.5mm audio jack. The device houses the speakers at the back.
As far as the mobile operating system is concerned, the Eluga Pure runs the older Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Panasonic's skin FitHome UI layered atop, which supports a Micro-SIM slot and offer a one hand operation interface, according to Gadgets 360.
The Eluga Pure sports a 5-inch HD curved glass display with 720x1280 pixels resolutions. On the photography front, it features a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front shooter for selfie addicts. In terms of connectivity, the Panasonic Eluga Pure offers GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G, VoLTE and 4G, BGR reported.
If the Panasonic Eluga Pure hits the store shelves in India, the smartphone is likely to take on the likes of Lenovo K6 Power, Moto G5 Plus, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 among others.
Meanwhile, the larger variant of the Eluga Pulse i.e. the Eluga Pulse X sports a larger 5.5-inch HD IPS display and pack 3GB of RAM.
