As part of its partnership with (RED), Apple has introduced a new red color option for its lauded iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus flagship smartphones.

The newfangled iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus sports a peppy red aluminum finish and is up for grabs in 128GB and 256GB storage options. Bearing an 'iPhone 7 Plus (PRODUCT)RED' moniker, the recently revealed variants will be up for grabs online as well as in retail stores across over 40 countries and regions. The sale kicks off Friday, March 24.

Apple chief executive Tim Cook deemed this special edition iPhone as the company's most substantial offering yet in order to mark Apple's 10-year collaboration with (RED). Cook added that they are excited about customers getting their hands on the Product (RED) iPhone, according to a press release posted on Apple's Newsroom.

The red iterations of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will hit the store shelves in India in April this year. The 128GB Red iPhone 7 Plus is expected to bear a steep price tag of 82,000 (about 1,252), according to Gadgets 360.

However, it's worth noting that Apple has not officially announced the price of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus red variants in India; however, the website alluded to the pricing of the 128GB red iPhone7 Plus, claiming it will be the same as other colors.

Apple Beefs Up Storage Capacities Of iPhone SE

In other news, Apple has doubled the storage capacities of a couple of iPhone SE variants -- from 16GB and 64GB to 32GB and 128GB respectively, without making any change to their price tags in the United States, with starting price of INR 27,200 (about $415). Interestingly, this comes at a time when the 16GB and 64GB iPhone SE models are selling at discount in India.
