Reportedly there will be a DJI Mavic Standard model to be released soon. According to reports, the company has already submitted an application for FCC ID and Labeling.

The DJI Mavic Pro was 2016's best-selling drone. Although the company has been bashed by customers who have issues with delayed pre-orders, the impressive performance of the drone kept the patrons in check. The company, late in 2016 also allegedly sent emails to its sellers informing them of cancellation of some of their models' production.

Just recently, another report pulled the DJI name in the spotlight. Reportedly, the Chinese drone creator will release a new product that will be dubbed as the DJI Mavic Standard. The recent report was sparked by an application filed by the company to FCC.

British website MavicGuide notes that there are indications that the upcoming DJI Mavic Standard would be a slimmed down version of the overwhelmingly popular DJI Mavic Pro. In the FCC website, there are images submitted by the company showing two labels of what appeared to be the DJI Mavic Pro and DJI Mavic Standard.

The DJI Mavic Standard will probably have the same size/weight as the Mavic Pro. In terms of its specification, according to Droningon, the camera would most likely be lesser than that of Mavic Pro. Allegedly, it would have a maximum resolution of 1080 HD movie or 2.7K.

The DJI Mavic Standard may not have sensors for obstacle detection. However, video connection would also be that of the OcySync. Furthermore, DJI Mavic Standard might have 12MP image resolution just like that of the DJI Mavic Pro.

The DJI Mavic Pro can be controlled through WIFI using a smartphone or tablet. There is a big chance that the DJI Mavic Standard would sport the same. The price of the Standard will most likely fall in the range between of $699 to $799.
