Microsoft's Surface Pro 5 is one of the most anticipated devices of 2017 so it's hardly surprising that the device has been subject to all sorts of rumors and leaks. Let's check out what the rumor mill has been churning out about the purported 2-in-1 detachable these days.

Apparently, gadget freaks have a lot to shout about this year with Apple reportedly gearing up to launch the iPhone 7 successor along with an iPad Pro 2 and iPad mini 5 arriving in April, a revived version of the Nokia 3310 hitting the store shelves and lots more. Nevertheless, some tech buffs have been clamoring for the next installment in Microsoft's Surface Pro lineup.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Release Date

Although nothing is set in stone, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 could debut along with Windows 10 Creators Update, which rolls out April 2017, if rumors proved to be true. Multiple sources have attributed the delayed launch of the Pro 5 to the availability of Intel's Kaby Lake processor.

The Redmond-based tech giant could alternatively be waiting for the Windows 10 Creators Update to roll out before it launches the Microsoft Surface Pro 5, as PC Advisor reports. If this comes to fruition, the long-rumored device could launch either in April or May.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Specs & Features

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is said to boast an array of awe-inspiring specs and features along with a slew of other enhancements over its precursor in terms of hardware. In line with this, many believe that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 could pack Intel's long Kaby Lake processors.

Under the hood, the new device is said to feature improved RAM (about 16GB), enhanced storage options and a longer battery life. Furthermore, Microsoft's upcoming flagship two-in-one could also boast support for Surface Dial coupled with a 4K display making it an ideal device for animation specialists and graphic designers.

Amidst the lack of an official announcement, tech gurus have been leaving no stone unturned in the bid to ferret out details about the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 even if that require resorting to some unorthodox methods and sources including LinkedIn.

Last month, Toby Fitch, a contracted product designer at Microsoft took to LinkedIn to reveal that he is part of a team that is currently focused on R&D and developing new speech models for a slew of looming devices including but not restricted to Xbox, HoloLens and the Microsoft Surface Pro 5, Top Examiner reported.

Interestingly, this update has since been removed from his profile indicating that he divulged more details than he was allowed to on the business and employment-based social networking service. Until Microsoft either confirms or debunks these rumors, readers are advised to take them with a grain of salt.
