Marcel's grip on the throne will be tried. This and more will be revealed in the forthcoming season premiere of "The Originals."
The synopsis of 'The Originals' Season 4 Episode 1 entitled Gather Up the Killers, tells that the king of New Orleans will face new enemies who will do their best to rid him of his position. Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) defeated Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and took over the city for five years already. In his reign, he has made various changes. Marcel has allowed undesired vampires to get in and live in New Orleans, a choice Klaus never made. Soon, however, Marcel will realize that he has made a very big mistake.
In the upcoming "The Originals" season 4 premiere, the reigning king will discover that the visitors he received has a hidden motive of dethroning him. Faced with this latest distress, the king will seek counsel from someone who was really unexpected. According to the promo, the reigning king will ask help from the dethroned king, Klaus.
Aside from that, the upcoming "The Originals" season 4 premiere will reveal that the Tunde blade that Marcel put in Klaus' chest was gone. Klaus is on his knees and his hands are chained up. He otherwise appears to be in a better condition than he was previously seen by the viewers.
The impending mutiny will surely distraught Marcel in "The Originals" season 4. Even though he has lived for centuries, this will be the first time that so much responsibility is laid on his shoulders. Previously, he had the Mikaelsons' backing. He was a part of the Original family and certainly had nothing to fear. The reigning king is left on his own facing the new threats as he has denounced his relationship to Klaus and his siblings. With the uprising building up, Marcel will find it very hard to trust anyone.
