People have gotten used to seeing videos of Samsung devices exploding on the internet, particularly the now infamous Galaxy Note 7. So much so that it prompted the company to implement extra precautions to avoid the same fate for the devices that are next in line. However, other companies are not immune to such incidents. Recently, a video of an exploding iPhone 7 Plus began circulating and it certainly caught Apple's attention.

Slash Gear reports that the said iPhone 7 Plus was owned by a certain Brianna Olivas from Arizona. She has shared the video on Twitter and fortunately, no one was hurt from the incident.

She also posted photos of the device after the incident has occurred, which shows the display separated from the aluminum chassis due to the swelling where the battery was located. Olivas claims that she uses only the official Apple charger for the phone.

The day before the incident, Olivas brought her iPhone device to the Sprint store because it won't turn on properly. After an employee of the Sprint store ran a diagnostic test, no problems were found. The next morning, however, suggests otherwise as the phone caught fire on its own after being taken off from its charger.

Olivas has taken the burnt iPhone 7 Plus to an Apple Store and was replaced with a brand new one by the store's employees. It wasn't certain what actually caused the meltdown, but a spokesperson from Apple has stated that they are in touch with the customer and looking into it.
