Chinese company Xiaomi is relentless in injecting budget smartphones with decent specs in the market. It plans to unleash Xiaomi Mi Max 2 although its predecessor just barged in over half a year ago. The previous Xiaomi Mi Max is a bang for bucks considering its power packed performance within the midrange phone level so high expectations ride on Max 2's shoulders.
AndroidPure suspects that Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is going to feature the same 6.44-inch display. However, the real upgrade will come with faster Snapdragon 660 processor as opposed to Snapdragon 650 that was used in the original. Come to think of it, it is only the chipset that is midrange because other specs are within the top of the line perspective.
Xiaomi Mi Max 2 will sport 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory. To compliment the impressive array, a long-lasting 4800mAh battery is allegedly powering the smartphone. A custom MIUI operating system which is derivative of Android Nougat is said to be running the device.
If there are anything that needs significant improvement, it could be the shooters. The original Xiaomi Mi Max received negative feedbacks due to sub par 5MP front camera. In a world where selfie is a trend, 5MP comes into huge disfavor. At any rate, the 16MP rear camera gives decent pictures but not really as impressive as others.
The nearest possible date for Xiaomi Mi Max 2 release could be in May. While there are hopes that the company will showcase the new flagship in Mobile World Congress next week, it is very unlikely to happen.
About the price, Xiaomi is known to be shy in escalating their prices drastically so it is possible that Mi Max 2 will launch within near identical price tag to the previous unit, Digital Trends said. Fans can expect a great deal for decent specs at around $300.
