AT&T, one of the top mobile phone carriers in the U.S., announced that its LG Escape will be available from Sept. 16 for just $50. The introduction of the LG Escape will attract cost conscious consumers who are looking for a budget-friendly smartphone on AT&T.

The press release states that the LG Escape will pair well with AT&T's recently announced shared data plans and the smartphone will be available to users at $49.99 with a two-year contract.

The LG Escape sports a 4.3-inch qHD true-color IPS touchscreen with Gorilla Glass. A 1.2 GHz dual-core processor powers the device. The handset runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) platform and offers 4GB of on-board memory with the option to expand up to
32 GB using a microSD card.

The LG Escape offers a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with auto-focus and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. A 2150mAh battery powers the smartphone. The device also has Bluetooth and Near-Field Communication (NFC) support.

The smartphone includes the QuickMemo feature, which allows users to create and share personalized memos by writing messages or drawing on screen captures. LG Escape also features the Skyfire Horizon, a browser toolbar extension, which allows users fast and easy access to their favorite social media pages like Facebook, Twitter, and more.

With a slew of smartphones available to consumers, time will tell if the attractive price offer on the LG Escape from AT&T appeals to smartphone enthusiasts.
