"Elementary" Season 5 renewal, cancellation status is keeping viewers on their toes, as CBS is expected to release renewal orders for its shows in the coming months. As TVLine reviews, there are some strong points for renewing the show and there are also points for cancelling the series.

One of the cases raised for the "Elementary" Season 5 renewal on CBS is the fact that the show is led by wonderful cast members, including Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu. The publication notes that the show may still further explore other storylines and introduce new and interesting characters for Season 6.

However, a point for "Elementary" Season 5 cancellation is that the show has not been performing so well in ratings as compared to other CBS dramas. According to the outlet, the show has averaged 0.7 rating in the demographics and has an average of 5.1 million viewers.

Should CBS decide to renew "Elementary" Season 5, however, executive producer Rob Doherty told EW in an earlier interview that Sherlock and Watson's partnership may fail in "Elementary" Season 6. According to the showrunner, Watson may no longer feel as excited about their escapades as she did before.

This may eventually lead to a fallout in their partnership in "Elementary" Season 6. Doherty teased that Sherlock will seek the help of Shinwell Johnson in the upcoming episodes in order to keep Watson fulfilled and satisfied.
