The Nokia Lumia 920 wasn't the only Windows Phone 8 handset to be announced on Wednesday at the Nokia and Microsoft-held conference. Sitting in the back while the Lumia 920 hog the spotlight, is the Nokia Lumia 820 mid-range Windows Phone 8 smartphone, a device that despite being pegged as a mid-ranged smartphone, is quite similar in specs when compare to the Lumia 920.

The device is packing a 4.3-inch OLED display, 1.5GHz dual core Qualcomm snapdragon processor, 1GB RAM, and 8GB internal memory. For those who require extra storage, this bad boy comes with a microSD card slot for extra storage up to 32GB, and 7GB SkyDrive cloud storage. The Lumia 820 is not the same in design when compared to the Lumia 920 - the polycarbonate design is gone in favor of something more simple.

The new design allows for the back and the face of the handset to be replaced with another cover. The camera here is 8 megapixels. However, if you are looking for PureView, you won't find it here. The Lumia 920 is where all the fun stuff is at. All is not lost though, because wireless charging is part of the Lumia 820 along with NFC, LTE, and a VGA front-facing camera.

For those who are interested in the Nokia Lumia 820 mid-range Windows Phone 8 handset, you'll be happy to know that the device will come in Red, Yellow, Grey, Cyan, Purple, White and Black variants this year. No price has been announced; expect Nokia to price the handset to compete so it could be cheaper than you might think.
