Motorola seems to be on track to offer competition to rival smartphone makers in September. The Google-owned smartphone maker has announced two events this month at which it is expected to launch its next-generation smartphones.
On Sept. 5, Motorola and Verizon are holding a joint press event in New York. This date is set to collide with the Nokia World event scheduled for the same day. If rumors are to be believed, then Motorola may launch the Droid Razr HD and Droid Razr Maxx HD at the event.
Motorola, in collaboration with Intel, also recently sent out invites for a press event on Sept. 18 in London. The invite says "Let us take you to the edge." Unfortunately, no information regarding the expected device is available on the invitation. Speculations suggest that the smartphone may be Intel powered and have edge-to-edge display, which means no bezels on the device.
"The phone would be the most high-profile product debut for Motorola Mobility since the company was purchased by Google for about $12.5 billion. The model also would be one of the first full-screen phones in the U.S.," reported Bloomberg.
The competition in the smartphone market is increasing day by day. Smartphone makers are always perennially persevering to incorporate new features in their handsets, which will appeal more to the consumers. The edge-to-edge display may open a new chapter in the smartphone world. Time will tell if the disappearing bezels of the next-gen Motorola phone will be enough to entice smartphone fanatics and draw then away from other high-end smartphones.
