"Pokémon Go" is getting a massive update this week. Expect 80 more Gold and Silver Pokémon in the wild, trainer accessories and new berry types, among others.

On February 15, Niantic announced the upcoming "Pokémon Go" update with an ambiguous "later this week" timeframe for a release date. The UI will be getting some tweaks and there will be new gameplay mechanics for Trainers to master, according to Game Informer.

The upcoming "Pokémon Go" update will add more than 80 Pokémon. These were originally discovered in the Johto region in the Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver video games. In addition, Pokémon with gender-specific variants will also be added in "Pokémon GO" alongside the update.

The upcoming "Pokémon Go" update will also provide more opportunities to evolve your Pokémon in the game. Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region will soon be able to evolve into Pokémon that live in the Johto region. Furthermore, new Evolution items at PokéStops will be available which are needed to evolve several Pokémon.

In addition, new Encounter Gameplay will be added with the "Pokémon Go" update. This time, Pokémon that you encounter in the wild will react in new ways while you're trying to catch them. There will also be new item carousels that enable you to select Berries and Poké Balls directly from the encounter screen.

The upcoming "Pokémon Go" update will get you two new Berries just by spinning the Photo Disc at PokéStops. These new berries are Nanab Berries and Pinap Berries. A Nanab Berry will slow down the Pokemon movements, making it easier to catch. The Pinap Berry, on the other hand, doubles the amount of Candy you will receive if your next catch attempt succeeds.

Aside from those mentioned, the upcoming "Pokémon Go" update will bring new avatars and an expanded wardrobe. There will be a whole new selection of hats, shirts, pants, and other items that you can use to customize your look.
