After Samsung released the video teaser of its next-gen device to be unveiled at the IFA event in Berlin its LG's turn. The South Korean chaebol, LG, has released a video teaser of its new handset giving a sneak peek to smartphone enthusiasts.

LG posted a video on its Korean website giving consumers glimpses of a smartphone, rumored to be released at IFA event in Berlin. If whispers are to believed, the video teaser is of the LG Optimus G. Speculations already abound for LG's Optimus Vu release in the U.S and now if the Optimus G is released then rivals may find another robust device to compete with.

The video teaser mainly promotes Qualcomm's Snapdragon processor and states (translated) "Existing quad-core compared to more than 40 percent and improved CPU performance, more than three times the enhanced graphics, strongest LTE phone powered by Qualcomm's second-generation quad-core LG Electronics, which boasts the most power efficient for you soon find goes."

The Optimus G is rumored to sport a quad-core Tegra 3+ or Snapdragon S4 Pro SoC with 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 4.7-inch TrueHD IPS display. These specifications will make the Optimus G one of the most powerful smartphones to hit the shelves. Smartphone enthusiasts will hope for the device to run on the much-touted Android Jelly Bean; however, the device is expected to pack Android's Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). If rumors are to be believed, the "L" line of devices inspire the Optimus G.

Major players like Samsung, HTC, and Motorola dominate the smartphone world. All these companies have an array of devices on offer for their customers. With the Optimus G launch, it looks like LG is pushing hard to overthrow Samsung as the king of high-speed hardware. Will the launch of the new power-packed LG devices like Optimus G, is LG planning to get the company back in the handset game?
