Those of you who are planning to get a PlayStation 4 should wait for a few more days as Sony will reportedly slash the price of its popular console for a limited time. The console in focus is the PS4 Slim. Sony announced to Thursday that the console's "Uncharted 4" and "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" bundles are falling to $250 from Feb. 12-25. Also part of the deal is the Walmart-exclusive glacier white "Infinite Warfare" PS4 bundle. Sony has stated that PS4's Glacier White variant will be launching on Jan. 24.
According to Game Spot, the Glacier White variant of PS4 will have a 500GB hard drive and Glacier White DualShock 4 controller. While the Sony Blog specifically mentions the PAL region, the console may not be coming to the US. The PAL region includes Australia, Europe and UK but not North America. The matte black version of PS4 Slim was launched in September 2016 and had a retail cost of $270 for the 500GB model. As Sony has previously sold a Glacier White variant of the original PS4, fans believe US will soon get the PS4 Slim variant.
Coming back to the "Uncharted 4" PS4 bundle, it includes a 500GB system and a copy of the game. The "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" bundle also includes the 500GB system, the game and a download code for "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" Remastered. The Walmart "Infinite Warfare" PS4 bundle comes with a white system and matching controllers. Earlier reports had revealed that the new PS4 Pro is selling better than the PS4 Slim console. Sony has not revealed the reason for the PS4 Slim price cut.
The temporary price cut for the PS4 console is only for the US. For more information, read Sony's "Pick Up Select PS4 Bundles for $249 This Month" blog post. Stay tuned on Mobile & Apps for more updates on PS4 consoles and PlayStation games.
