The perennial iPhone 5 rumors and leaks have given iFans fodder for speculation and helped form notions of the hotly-anticipated smartphone's physical design. By now, both aficionados and tech gurus have become conversant with its features and specs. The latest rumor is that the leaked iPhone 5 parts are a perfect fit for the leaked back casing.
The leaked iPhone 5 parts surfaced on Aug 17. and according to iResq, an iGadget repair company, fit effortlessly into the rear shell of the purported iPhone 5 chassis, which has been the subject of scrutiny for a few months.
"We were able to fit the docking port and headphone jack assembly that we showed you on Friday into the new iPhone's frame/back casing. The docking port and headphone jack assembly seemed to fit perfectly inside of the frame. One of our technicians was even able to screw the assembly into the pre-aligned screw holes inside of the frame. All of the threading and screw holes lined up perfectly with the screw holes in then docking port/headphone jack assembly," said iResq.
Images on iResq, showcasing the fitted components, corroborate their assertion. The headphone jack and docking port fit into the right spots increases the probability of the parts being authentic and Apple-manufactured. However, iResq disclaims that "The "iPhone 5"' frame/back casing that we have in-house is an incomplete part (it is a shell that should be filled in with more parts). This means that there are some missing plastic gaskets and fittings inside of the back casing that should fill in the tiny gaps between the docking port and the headphone jack in relation to the frame. So the gaps you see here should be filled in with the completely assembled back casing when it is released." The stipulation indicates that the purported part is an engineering prototype.
For now, iFans can revel in the probability that rumored parts fitting into a rumored case is not a coincidence. The iResq find gives credence to the innumerable leaked parts that have been floating for the past few months, validating assertions that iPhone 5 is set to debut on Sept. 12.
