The latest analyst report has revealed that "Pokemon GO" has already made $1 billion in revenue since it launched in July 2016. Measurement firm Sensor Tower has revealed these numbers and has also stated that the game is the fastest-growing mobile game in history. The primary reason for success is constant "Pokemon GO" updates and events that have kept fans glued to their mobiles since the game launched. It was earlier thought that the game would eventually fizzle off as many players were dropping off.

However, the game has made a major turnaround despite diminished daily revenue. It has managed to spark consumer interest time and again with limited-time events, like Halloween update. The report claims that "Pokemon GO" is set to become more successful and profitable on iOS and Android devices with time. Data miners have unlocked a plethora of new features being secretly developed by Niantic, which will be released timely throughout the year. Gen 2 Pokemon, new Pocket Monsters, Evolution Stones and new moves are all in the pipeline.

"We're still several months away from the one year anniversary of Pokémon GO's launch, which gives its developer, Niantic, plenty of time to leave this $1 billion milestone in the dust through additional events and major content updates-such as the long-anticipated Generation 2 Pokemon," said the Sensor Tower report.

It is widely-speculated that the next mega in-game event will be the "Pokemon GO" Valentine's Day event, where Niantic is once again expected to generate impressive sales figures. It is quite mind-boggling to think how "Pokemon GO" managed to become the massive hit it is now considering how certain aspects of the game were pretty mismanaged when it launched. There is no well-defined long-term goal or endgame. The monetization system is also not that impressive and players cannot buy premium PokeBalls.

There have been no aesthetic upgrades either, writes Forbes. The future of "Pokemon GO" is uncertain and experts expect Niantic to bring massive changes in the game to keep user interest alive. However, for now, it is a craze and fans can't expect more. Stay tuned on Mobile & Apps for more updates on "Pokemon GO."
