In September 2016, Apple released its latest iPhone models, the 5.5 inches iPhone 7 Plus and the 4.7 inches iPhone 7. According to CEO Tim Cook, the iPhone 7 Plus is the most popular Plus model among other Plus models outselling the 2014 iPhone 6 Plus as well as the 2015 iPhone 6s Plus.
The Plus lineup has always differentiating factors than the smaller iPhones that Apple offers but the dual camera that the iPhone 7 Plus has seemed to be specifically popular to customers. This is because it features a standard wide-angle lens and a 56 mm telephoto lens that are useful with photo enhancements.
The iPhone 7 Plus also features a Portrait mode, which is used with the 56 mm lens in creating high-quality DSLR-style photos with blurred backgrounds that highlight subjects. As MacRumors pointed out, this is a unique function that draws more interest from costumers.
Apple recently announced that its revenue during the 2016 holiday quarter has a whopping 78.3 million record-breaking sales for its iPhone units particularly with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus release. Reports say that it surpassed the previous sales of 74.8 million in the same quarter last year where iPhone sales brought in a five percent year-on-year growth that has put a stop to the company's decline that has been on since the past three succeeding quarters.
Furthermore, Cook also said that the Cupertino-based company has underestimated the demands for the iPhone 7 Plus model, which left them having issues with the supply and demand of the device. In spite of the supply and demand concern, Apple still managed to make a record-breaking sale of its iPhone 7 units and a 78.4 billion in total revenue overall.
