The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is a widely-anticipated device that is expected to be released sometime in spring 2017. The Surface Book 2 may come out in autumn. This seems like a logical flow of device at regular intervals from Microsoft. The device is reportedly waiting for a Windows 10 Creators Update and Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset. These specs, if implemented in the Surface Pro 5, will give the device a clear advantage over other similar devices.
According to Forbes, Microsoft has released the beta version of the Creators Update and it aims at seamless integration of third-party applications, improved 3D tools and VR and Mixed Reality. Another major update will focus majorly on mobile compatibility. The Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 may be lucky enough to get all these major features if released in the fourth quarter of 2017. It is possible that Microsoft is developing two Surface Pro 5 models, one with a lower price tag and the other the premium one.
A smaller 2K resolution screen has also been tipped. Tech experts are also expecting to see some major upgrades to the Surface Pen that is slated to come with the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 and boast of wireless charging when attached to the tablet's body. The Microsoft Surface Dial could also be made compatible with Surface Pro 5. There are rumors that Microsoft is developing a new display technology for the Pro 5, which will improve accuracy of the touch screen, both for the Surface Pen and user's hands.
One of the biggest visible changes in the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 would be ramping up the resolution to 4K. The USB-C feature may replace existing ports. The Kaby Lake architecture will definitely give Microsoft bragging rights. Stay tuned on Mobile & Apps for more updates on the Surface Pro 5.
