We've heard rumors before about a sequel to HTC's One X flagship, but a new report now offers more extensive details. HTC's One X follow-up has leaked online and will reportedly be a 1.7GHz processor to hit the market in less than two months.

Citing a "trusted mole at the Taiwanese phone maker," Stuff reported the HTC One X sequel will be called the HTC Endeavour C2, and will sport quite some impressive features. This bad boy will reportedly pack a faster, 1.7GHz quad-core processor, an improved battery (hopefully a removable one), and a new color option, unknown at this point. The handset will also come with UrBeats headphones bundled into the box. Previous speculation regarding HTC's next smartphone pointed to a 5-inch display, though Stuff makes no mention of that.

The site's source further noted that the HTC Endeavour C2 will bear similar design and support for all One X accessories, which indicates it will sport the same slim, sexy frame as HTC's current flagship smartphone.

When it comes to software, the HTC Endeavour C2 will reportedly pack ClearVoice technology to improve call quality, and it will also come as the company's first smartphone to run HTC Watch 2, HTC's latest version of its on-demand video offering. The HTC One X sequel will most likely run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the latest version of Google's popular mobile operating system.

Although the HTC One X came as the first quad-core smartphone to hit store shelves, various tests indicate it is not quite as powerful as Samsung's new flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S3. With a 1.7GHz quad-core processor, however, the HTC Endeavour C2 might have just what it takes to score better in performance tests.

There are not many details to go on for now, but Stuff's "trusted mole" did offer some vague details regarding price and release date. UK network deals will reportedly offer the smartphone for roughly £5 more per month than the HTC One X. The HTC Endeavour C2 is expected to go on sale in less than two months, "on or before" Oct. 1. If rumors prove to be true, this powerful handset might give HTC the edge it needs to take on Samsung's highly-popular Galaxy S3, and compete with Apple's next-generation iPhone, expected to launch this fall.
