Apple on Tuesday released the company's new operating system for iPhone and iPad. But for the time being, it's only available to developers and every user who installs a simple developer profile on the device.
It was previously reported that the iOS 10.3 was expected to have a Theater Mode feature that allows users to disables all incoming calls and messages, making the device more suitable for movie theaters. However, the said feature is headed to the Apple Watch in the near future.
In a report by BGR, the news outlet has a roundup of all the new user-facing features that get added in the iOS builds. First is the Find My Airpods feature that is self-explanatory feature. But the new option of the said feature tracks the last known location on the map. However, CNET reports that the Airpods still rely on your iPhone or iPad's location and Bluetooth to show where one last had them.
Find My iPhone locates the headphones to within Bluetooth range of any of your iOS devices that are signed into iCloud. If AirPods are near those devices, the device's location will be used to show where to start looking.
The second feature for the iOS 10.3 is the Apple ID Profile. The feature gives users quick access to the phone's owner info, security settings, payment information, iCloud, App Store settings Family Sharing and more.
There is also a Floating iPad keyboard feature, which there was a hidden setting in iOS 10.3 discovered by the developer Steve Troughton-Smith. The feature replaces that standard widescreen keyboard of the iPad and replaces it with a one-handed keyboard that can be dragged around the screen.
The App Animations that makes the apps in the screen to have more rounded edges. The iCloud Storage that adds a new section at the top of the iCloud settings to give a graphical breakdown of how the iCloud storage has been used.
