Phones featuring a full touchscreen seems to be high in demand, however, it seems like BlackBerry is not diving into the latest trend. The famous mobile company's upcoming device, the BlackBerry Mercury smartphone, will take on a classic look by incorporating a Qwerty keyboard.

The Canadian mobile company, BlackBerry, has confirmed about releasing its latest device on Feb. 25, however, it has kept some details confidential, such as its features and specs. According to Daily Mail, BlackBerry Mercury was first seen at CES in Las Vegas, but TCL -- the firm that uses BlackBerry handsets, will formally present the device prior to the Mobile Word Congress in Barcelona on February. The said device will feature the firm's signature Qwerty keyboard together with a touch-operated main screen.

Meanwhile, Pocket Lint reported that the Qwerty keyboard has received its rightful update as the space bar will not only work on its obvious function but also, as a home button and a fingerprint scanner. BlackBerry Mercury is also speculated to have a Snapdragon 625 processor together with a 3GB RAM and two powerful cameras -- on 8MP front camera and an 18 MP rear cam. However, it's price and other features have remained unknown.

BlackBerry is known for its Qwerty keyboard and in fact, it has come out with the latest one in Nov. 2015. The BlackBerry Priv is almost like the BlackBerry Mercury with its tangible keyboard, however, it features a retractable one.

The upcoming BlackBerry Mercury will be designed by an in-house firm, as BlackBerry has stopped designing its own devices after being "defeated" by its closest competitors, Apple and Samsung. Meanwhile, Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of Mobility Solutions Ralph Pini said in his blog that they are excited about its upcoming BlackBerry Mercury smartphone.

"It's the last phone that we designed and engineered in-house," Ralph said. "Our global licensing partner TCL will be manufacturing Mercury and bringing it to market in many countries around the world."
