Apple released on January 24 the beta 1 of macOS Sierra 10.12.4. Apple's latest release brings Night Shift Feature, Shanghainese dictation support, and Siri Cricket Scores among others.

macOS Sierra 10.12.4. brings the same Night Shift feature seen on iOS to the Mac. This means Mac users can now schedule their display colors to slowly shift hues over time, displaying less blue light as nighttime comes. 9to5mac notes that the Night Shift feature on Mac alters the colors of the integrated Retina Display on a MacBook as well as any linked external displays.

The Night Shift feature of macOS 10.12.4 spontaneously corrects the hue of the colors on the screen consistent to the time of day. By gradually shifting from a blue light glare to a softer yellow display, it makes it easier for your eyes and may aid you to sleep better. With Night Shift feature's automatic schedule, the display will return to its standard colors by morning.

Night Shift is a prevalent feature on iPhones and iPads to lessen eye strain. It was introduced with iOS 9.3, says MacRumors. Now, Apple is finally making its debut on the Mac with this version of Sierra. To use Night Shift on the Mac, open System Preferences and go to Displays. Night Shift is located on the third tab, and features much of the same options you are used to from iOS. Set a custom schedule or use the automatic timings based on sunrise and sunset.

macOS 10.12.4 includes many fresh features including dictation support for Shanghainese. You can now ask Siri about cricket scores, schedules and player rosters. Siri knows about statistics and data from the Indian Premier League and International Cricket Council. In addition, macOS 10.12.4 has updated PDFKit APIs for better displaying of PDFs in apps that use the framework.

Developers can try to test the Night Shift feature right now. At present, the date for public release of macOS 10.12.4 is not yet revealed.
