US fans have already been taken aback by Carrie's (Claire Danes) actions in "Homeland" season 6 episode 2," but UK fans are yet to find out what's up with TV's favorite CIA operative. The new season picks up several months after the terrorist attack at Hauptbahnhof Station in Berlin. With Carrie back in the US, she finds herself still coming to grips with the responsibilities of balancing civil liberties and security.

It's been a while since viewers have seen Carrie and Saul (Mandy Patinkin) working on the field, so the latter showing up on the latest episode entitled "The Man in the Basement" was quite heart-tugging. As per usual, the female lead is still beyond stressed out, so when Saul appears out of nowhere, it's more comforting than a pint of Ben & Jerry's Phish Food.

The relationship between the two has always been rocky, but "Homeland" season 6 episode 2 showed another side of Carrie (at least to her relationship with Saul) that fans didn't quite expect. - she actually lied to Saul, in his face! The latest episode saw Saul accused Carrie if she's advising President-elect Elizabeth Keane (Elizabeth Marvel), to which she vehemently denied.

It's easy to fall for her shtick, which is why when "Homeland" season 6 episode 2 showed the blonde femme fatale meet up with the President-elect, the US collectively gasped. Carrie is still at the top of her game, apparently.

"Homeland" season 6 will follow the different motivations and interests revealed during the transition of power that will happen in the 70 days between incoming and outgoing administrations. This means we will see more of Marvel, along with new stars Patrick Sabongui who will take on the role of a law professor. Hill Harper is also in tow, whose best work is "CSI: NY."

You can watch a recap of the previous episodes on Showtime. UK fans, on the other hand, will see "Homeland" season 6 on Channel 4, Sundays at 9pm and can view more updates on the official Channel 4 website.
