"Pokemon Sun and Moon" players have up to Jan. 26 to sign up for the upcoming Alola Friendly Online Competition. Pokemon recently announced this special online competition on its official Twitter page via Global Pokemon Link. The competition will start on Jan. 27, Friday and will run up to Jan. 29, Sunday. "Pokemon Sun and Moon" players will have to log in to their accounts via the global link page. The tournament has a set of special rules and is a Single Battle competition. Players will receive 50 Battle Points as a bonus reward on joining.
The eligibility criteria for the competition include a Pokemon Trainer Club account, team of eligible Pokemon and the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" video game. The Quick Link and Festival Plaza offers players the opportunity to practice battling with other friends. As per iTech Post, players can use all available Pokemon in the Alola Pokedex but not the Special Pokemon. The Alola online competition has a limit of 15 battles per day. That's the maximum number of competitions a player can take part in a day.
The list of banned Pokemon that players cannot use during the Alola Friendly Online Competition are Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala, Cosmog, Necrozma, Zygarde and Magearna. There are also certain moves that the friendly competition do not allow. Some of them include Techno Blast, Shadow Force, Fusion Flare, Doom Desire and Hyperspace Fury. Even Mega Stones cannot be used in the competition. Recently, "Pokemon Sun and Moon" turned out to be a record-breaker.
Since the games' mid-November release, the two games have sold about 4.5 million copies combined. Such incredible sales have also boosted Nintendo 3DS software sales, which reached its highest three month mark in Nintendo's history. In December 2016, "Pokemon Sun and Moon" were in second and third position on the NPD Groups list. Stay tuned on Mobile & Apps for more updates on the game.
