The Nintendo NES Classic Edition continues to receive a high demand among gamers, as the company underestimated the response to the release of the classic gaming console. While prices from third-party sellers are once again seeing an increase, a recent stock update shows that some retailers have new inventories.

The latest Nintendo NES Classic stock update shows that retailers such as Target are reflecting new inventories of the classic gaming console amidst the lack of supply. According to I4U News, gamers noticed that the inventory of NES in several Target stores have increased from 2 percent to 6 percent.

Many users continue to be on the lookout for available stocks of the NES Classic through BrickSeek. This enables them to check which stores will have new stocks of the classic Nintendo console the night before and line up in stores even before they open.

As of writing, the majority of stores do not have more than four stocks of the NES Classic, as Nintendo still has not refreshed its stock among retailers. While the price of the console among third-party sellers in Amazon or eBay has seen a drop, the publication notes that prices have started to increase to $191.

In an interview with Gamespot, Nintendo of American president Reggie Fils-Aime explained that the company did not expect that the NES Classic will have a wider audience. According to Fils-Aime, they thought that the gaming console would only attract adults aged 30-40.

"As we thought about that, that led us to a certain level of supply," he explained.

However, the company did not realize that even active gamers from the younger generation would be interested in getting their hands on the Nintendo NES Classic Edition. Fils-Aime reassured gamers that the shortage in the supply of the console has already been "largely addressed."
