In "Final Fantasy XV," there are several fishing spots scattered all over the world of Eos. While the items Noctis gets from fishing can be given to Ignis as cooking ingredients or used as magic spell catalysts, there are also side quests that players can undertake to earn various rewards from a fisherman named Navyth.

According to IGN, Navyth can first be found at the Alstor Slough in Chapter 3. His first quest "Fishing Buddies" will reward players with 1,500 EXP and a Knife T. Tonberry lure. Catch a Crag Barramundi at the Neeglyss Pond in the same area. Use a Sweet Jamming: Custard lure or a Bomber: Ice Bomb to catch the fish easily.

In "Fishing Naturally," players can earn 2,000 EXP and the Butterfly Edge rod. Noctis must now catch a Cherrycomb trout at the River Wennath in Cleigne, which is northeast of Burbost Souvenir Emporium. Samurai Gamers suggests using a Whiskers: Crystal lure during dawn or dusk for this quest. Catching the fish is easier if Noctis has a fishing skill level of at least 5 or higher.

For "Navyth's Challenge," rewards include 3,000 EXP and an Invincible Iron Giant lure. Navyth asks Noctis to catch a Vesper Gar at The Versperpool - West Bank in Cleigne. Use the Stinker: Malboro or Stinker: Malbodoom lures.

If Noctis' skill level is maxed at level 10, players can pick out the Vesper Gar by a large yellow dot on the screen. Use your strongest fishing gear and a Dragon's Beard line with 2,000 durability. Be patient, and only reel in the fish when there is no tension in your line. Make sure to aim in the direction that the fish is currently swimming to avoid wearing out your line.

Navyth's final quest is "Angler's Nightmare," and rewards players with 5,000 EXP and the Tranquility rod, the best rod in the game with 290 defense. Noctis will have to catch the Murk Grouper, or the Devil of the Cygillan. Both Navyth and the fishing spot is at the Vannath Coast in Galdin Quay. Use the Burrower: Abyss Worm lure. Unless Noctis' fishing skill is at level 10, you will have to fish blindly for the Murk Grouper.

Like the "Angler's Nightmare" quest, players are advised to use their best reel, rod, and line to increase the odds of catching the fish. Try getting the Llymlaen reel from the Totomostro mini-game in Altissia since it is the best reel in the game with 330 defense. Don't press the R2 button while reeling, and instead just press it repeatedly to lessen the tension on the line when the fish changes direction. Pay attention to the vibration of your controller when reeling.
