A 256GB variant of the Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL could be a dream come true to many fans and users of these devices. Although the phone option showed up at the official website of Verizon, Google was quick to say that it is not offering the variant.
Is there a 256GB variant?
A link leading to Verizon's website showing the Google Pixel and Pixel XL earlier reflected a 256GB variant for both phones, including pricing. While fans got excited for a second, it was clarified that there was just an error in the posting of the 256GB variant for the Google handsets.
The option has already been removed from the website. Some speculated that it could have been copied from earlier content, which could have been iPhone descriptions since it offers a 256GB option. A customer representative of Verizon also confirmed that it was just an error.
Now, the website only reveals that the Google Pixel and Pixel XL are available with a 32GB storage and a 128GB variant. The first option has a retail price of $650, while the bigger storage is sold for $750.
Google Pixel and Pixel XL specs and features
Both phones are priced relatively higher because they sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset and a quadcore processor. The handsets also have 4GB of RAM and come with an Adreno 530 GPU.
The Google Pixel and Pixel XL also run on Android 7.1, which features a Google Assistant, new home screen design and extremely fast performance. The applications also easily respond when tapped.
Those planning to buy these offerings by Google should also know that they are already VR-ready. Although the Pixel XL is a better choice for virtual reality, even the Pixel can be used with a Daydream VR. What do you think is the best feature of both smartphones?
