The Sims 4 players may be getting their Halloween update a little early this year but it's never a bad time for vampires. The official trailer for "The Sims 4: Vampires" game pack was released last January 10 and it pointed at January 24th, 2017 as the release date.
A blog post on The Sims website confirms this, promising to have even more information about the pack over the next two weeks. The same blog post details what Sims 4 players can look forward to when creating their vampire Sims.
Players of The Sims 3 franchise will see a few similarities with the old Sims 3 vampires and the latest versions. But there are plenty of differences as well.
Specific Motives, New Abilities. Typical Sims have six motives such as hunger, energy, hygiene and fun. These need to be maxed out for the best possible mood, and can be done so by eating, sleeping, and bathing on the regular. Vampire Sims' motives, according The Sims blog, are focused on Plasma (Sims-speak for just plain old blood), Powers and sleep.
Vampire Sims can drink Plasma via Plasma Packs, Plasma fruit or by drinking from other Sims. The trailer also hints at special abilities, such as shape-shifting (into a bat), hypnotizing other Sims, and turning other Sims into vampires. More details are needed and will be released within the coming weeks.
New Create-A-Sim Options. This game pack also adds a few new ways to customize your vampire Sim. Options include glowing eyes, "creepy" eye sockets, pale skin, and new eyebrows. There also seem to be new clothing choices to fit typical vampire fashion-i.e., blood red dresses, waistcoats, and plenty of cobweb-style lace.
New Town: Forgotten Hollow. The latest pack also includes a whole new town for your undead Sim to feel at home. According to iDigitalTimes, Forgotten Hollow is a five-block lot with a town center dedicated to their founding vampire, Vlad. Unique features such as longer nights, constant fog and dying foliage complete the look on this Goth-chic suburb.
As per their press release, more details will be released about this game pack over the next two weeks. "The Sims 4: Vampires" game pack will be available on January 24th and is playable with "The Sims 4" base game.
