"Astroneer" recently received an update for Xbox One and Windows 10. The new patch will address several existing bugs and stability issues, as well as streamline the Xbox One and Windows 10 Play Anywhere version with the Steam version of "Astroneer."

The "Astroneer" patch details were posted on the System Era forums. The update has build number 0.2.10117.0 for Xbox One and Windows 10, and build number 0.2.117.0 for Steam. Xbox and UWP will receive all fixes from Steam 111 and 115. The "Astroneer" patch allows the two expansion slots on backpack to use Tanks, Filters and Tethers. It fixed an exploit that allowed players to trade for infinite resources by thieving the item upon launch. The new patch also fixed a bug that prevented a full oxygen tank from saving an Astroneer from suffocation.

The "Astroneer" patch notes stated that Condenser will have its production time and power requirement doubled. The value of Fuel was cut in half on Trade module. The update fixed known physics issues when attaching items to large storage on truck, as well as a bug that let players create building platforms after a conduit hub has been branched. The Shuttle/Spaceship conduit hub type was changed so it is now similar to the habitat.

More fixes were also introduced by the "Astroneer" update, including an issue where resources hover out of backpack on loading save, and an algorithm that picks the height of new base platforms that gave flat terrain flat bases. The "Astroneer" patch provided a fix for clients that did not see proper light and oxygen state on tethers, or were unable to hear in SFX category of sounds.

Other new fixes in "Astroneer" include addressing four major crashes, an issue where some unburied discovers failed to simulate physics after reloading, and very bad performance when training several rovers and trucks together. Fixes for trade module save behavior and physics freeze distance were also provided.

Windows Central wrote that "Astroneer" officially launched into the Game Preview program in December 2016, and will continue to be tested and updated towards its official launch. Game developer System Era estimates that it will take one to two years before the official version releases.
