"Game of Thrones" season 7 returns airing this summer. In addition, the team is set to shoot the final six episodes of "Game of Thrones" for season 8.

"GOT" star Liam Cunningham has disclosed the start of show's final season shooting. In a recent interview with Dubai One, Cunningham, who plays Davos Seaworth, said that the next season is going to be extraordinary. He added that they are still filming at present and that they will probably finish by the end of next month. "That is seven episodes and then we start filming again in September for a final six," he remarked.

The recent news supports the assumption that "Game of Thrones" season 7 could have longer episodes. According to the fan site Winter is Coming, Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark, may have unconsciously suggested that "Game of Thrones" season 7 episodes would be longer that the usual 50 to 60 minutes. In a Facebook Live interview, the star was quoted saying that there are only seven episodes but there will be just as much content. She added that the upcoming season will not disappoint fans.

In a Radio Times interview, actor Iain Glen, who plays Jorah Mormont, may also have suggested that season 7 will be lengthier, noting that it has 13 episodes remaining but comprises 15 hours of content. This equates to approximately 69 minutes in every episode.

The show's producers have yet to provide anything official about the length of episodes in "Game of Thrones" season 7. Meanwhile, NME reported that Alfie Allen recently told fans that "GOT" is set to get a lot darker. He was quoted saying that there will be "more of the same but better." The actor also added that there will be more dragons and lots more torture.
